Data Processing Summary
ReadReveal (Acclimt) — a plain-language summary for parents and schools. This is a companion to the full Privacy Policy.
What we collect and how long we keep it
- Teacher and administrator accounts: Email, name, account credentials, and organization and class information are kept while the account is active. Account data is deleted or anonymized within 30 days of deletion.
- Student records: Nicknames, class assignments, reading scores, session history, and quiz responses are kept while the school or center account is active. Schools can request deletion at any time.
- Guest sessions: Anonymous tokens, reading results, and earned rewards are deleted within 7 days. Hashed abuse-prevention identifiers are deleted after the guest cooldown period.
- Usage data: Device and browser type and general usage patterns are aggregated after 7 days; raw records are purged.
Voice recordings
In Mic Mode, audio passes through ReadReveal's server to OpenAI for speech-to-text transcription. ReadReveal does not retain student voice recordings; audio is deleted immediately after transcription. The resulting transcript and scores are kept with the reading session. Optional pronunciation feedback uses Microsoft Azure Speech.
Third-party AI services
OpenAI transcribes audio. Google Gemini helps generate quizzes, translations, definitions, and evaluations of teacher-submitted passages. Replicate generates illustrations from scene descriptions without student identifiers. Microsoft Azure Speech provides optional pronunciation feedback.
Parent reports and deletion requests
Teacher-issued parent report links expire after 30 days and can be revoked. A teacher or school administrator can remove a student record. For school data deletion or privacy questions, contact readreveal@acclimt.com.
